Day 17- Beijing-Toronto-Home

Good bye for now and we will see you at home!

Lileah is ready to go to Canada!

Yesterday evening Adriana took her dad to the Acrobat Show and they really enjoyed themselves. Adriana did well in spite of being tired. Half way through the show she turned to Alphonse and whispered, "Daddy, when we get back to the hotel room can I go to sleep?" They came home happy, hungry and tired. Adriana also bought a Chinese Yoyo that she said you need to throw up in the air. We will try this at home.

Today we put our luggage outside our door at 9:50 am and begin our journey home. We are going to meet Lily at 10:00 in the lobby. She is taking us to the biggest bookstore in Beijing and then we are off to the Aquarium to see the Mermaid show. After that we are going to go to the airport and say good bye to our luggage for the long ride home. We are anticipating a bit of crying on the part of Lileah just because she likes to get out and stretch a bit. Hopefully she will be too tired to do anything but sleep on the plane. Yesterday while Adriana and Alphonse were at the Acrobatic Show Lileah and I watched an entire show of Dora. She loved it. She sat on my lap the whole show and was silent watching the show. She even pointed when Dora asked if we could see Swiper, but I am sure that was involuntary. Hopefully she can sit with her sister on the plane and waste a few minutes.

It has been a long but wonderful trip for everyone here. We will be happy to get back to Canada but will still miss many things here. It has been so great for Adriana to feel the love the country has for her as an adopted girl. It has been good for us as well. We have met so many people who have shown their positive feelings for us in adopting their daughters. People on the streets giving us the thumbs up, huge smiles and such warm interest in the girls. Even though we may be taking them far from their birth country we now know that they will always be warmly welcomed here.
