We are happy that you are enjoying the blog. Yes, Darcy the bathrooms were incredible in that hotel. The hotel we are in now is not as nice. Can you find Jinan on a map and see where we are exactly? You boys would be amazed by the different motorbikes and things that people here ride. There are these really cute cars that only have 3 wheels and they can carry 2 people. It is amazing to what the people can carry on their vehicles too. Some of them have these motorized bikes that have a trailer on them and they will carry a huge pile of hay or bags or all kinds of things. The other day when we were walking in the park we saw a lady walking with 3 live chickens in her basket. She must have been going home to kill and then cook them!We went on a tour of some of the parks in the city today and there were some really cool things that I thought you would like to see. The first picture above is a picture of the entrance to one of the many spring parks in the city. Jinan where we are is a sister city to Regina. The city has many underground springs and the area where we were at the people are able to pipe this water into their homes and it is clean enough to drink.
In the parks in China there are always people out exercising. They practice their Tia Chi and practice dancing in the parks all the time. These people are practicing Tia Chi.
This guy is also practicing tia chi. He looks pretty fit for an old guy right?
Here is the same guy about 10 minutes later! Not so healthy right? He is smoking a cigarette! Jinan is famous for it's martial arts. Many people come here to learn them.
Here is a typical bike that we saw tons of in China. They are all old I never saw a new one the whole time we were in China! This one has tofu in it. The guy who sells it rides along banging on some wooden drum and everyone knows that he has the tofu for them.
This whole area used to be the place where the emperor lived. This part here was his personal swimming pool. There were people swimming in it and also they were doing their laundry at the same time. It was really neat as there were so many people here just hanging out.
These two pictures are mixed up and the second one should be first. I took a picture of the guy diving and then his splash. He must have been showing off for us because we were there for about 10 minutes and he dove about 10 times! He was really good.
This is across the pool and it is where the descendants of the emperor still live. Our guide said that there is still beautiful furniture in the house that the descendants wanted him to help them sell.These next pictures are of the street and some of the vehicles that people drive. The people here are more organized with the way they drive than in the city that Adriana was born. There the people drive anyway they want. They cut in front of people and make U turns in the middle of the street. Then they honk their horns to let you know that they are coming and to watch out. People on the bikes and carts and such consider themselves pedestrians so when you are crossing the street you need to make sure that you look both ways. Stacey was almost hit by someone on a motorized cart one day!

This was the last spring park that we went to today but it was really neat. They had boats that people could rent. We didn't go on them because we didn't know if they were safe or not.
At this park the springs were the strongest. The water flowed out very fast and strong. People came from all around to collect water to drink. They would take it home and make Chinese green tea. The man here had a rope tied on his kettle and he lowered it into the water to collect it.
These people here are lined up to get water from a different part of the spring.
Here is the place where the water comes out the strongest.
This is a picture taken by me of me and Adriana. The water that comes out of the taps in China is not safe to drink so people have to buy water to drink. Also you can't brush your teeth with it. It is kind of hard to rinse your mouth with a glass of water so as you can see I didn't do a very good job of rinsing my mouth off this morning after I brushed my teeth. I still had toothpaste on the sides of my mouth!
